on suspicion of stealing two cross bikes

I bet the owners were cross, too. If not livid.

Didn't I watch this when it was called M3ghan? I think these kind of movies are going to get old real fast.

it's not about 'pleasing;' someone; it's about gender equality and fair representation. You don't want that?

There is already equality of opportunity. I do not want forced equality of outcome, no. Is that what you want? The latter is most definitely about pleasing certain people.

As a point of reference, in the UK 'only' 35% of MPs are female. I guess that's still not enough to please some people. And no LDP there to blame. What could be another reason, that could perhaps be applied to Japan?

Yes, go out and press-gang women into the government and see where that leads.

It makes a point of allocating funds evenly to stocks and bonds, both Japanese and foreign, to minimize total investment risks.

Evenly? I'm guessing 95% to US stocks. I certainly hope so.

As a Japanese citizen I feel embarrassed, as I see many foreign visitors pass by those billboards and they must wonder what’s going on,” said Mayumi Noda, an office worker.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a uniquely Japanese problem. Who is so obsessed with foreigners' opinions, except for the Japanese?

Bardella is the child/grandchild of immigrant...

So he's French. And obviously cares about France. Good on him for not clinging to some imaginary fielty or, worse, religion.

But others feared the rise of the RN and its nationalist platform would cause growing tensions in French society.

I think the swing to the right is a warning that things have already become far too tense.

From the outside, seems to me the left hate a leader who isn't just a mouthpiece/puppet; which seems to equate to a dictator in their eyes. When Trump wins again, are you going to let him get on with the job or, like before, take every opportunity to sabotage him by smearing his name and trying to get him arrested? Maybe some peaceful™ riots?

Thanks Wallace. My family only uses Apple products so no brainer for us.

If I am going to enjoy a good helping of junk, which I do sometimes, I wouldn’t be wasting it on anything from Lawson or 7/11.

This is an article about Lawson. Wouldn't be my first choice of decadence (or anyone's, I would hope) but this is what it is.

Too high calorie for me

What does that even mean? Calories make you feel bad? You think calories have a harmful effect, like a virus? If your calorie intake should be 2000 per day and, like me, you have oatmeal for breakfast and salad for lunch, then with those donuts for dinner you're still going to be, I guess, under or near 2000. For one day. If this kind of food makes you vomit, then fair enough. But that's nothing to do with calories.

Why? Why is it important?

...

But to say that an organization's ability to carry out its mission is somehow improved by hiring more women or more minorities? That is true ONLY if those women or minorities are BETTER at their jobs than their predecessors.

Good luck with getting an answer to that. I think the stock response is misogyny or racism..
