Falseflagsteve,
You have some very old-fashioned and puritan opinions.

I don’t know if anyone in Japan works too hard. Most people certainly work too long though.

Other than England again fortuitously finding themselves on the easier side of the knockout draw, I have seen nothing to suggest they are a team capable of winning the tournament.

Fighto, you have England as favourites to win the tournament?
Seriously?
Based on what exactly?

@japantime
After reading your comment, I presume you are unaware of the number of quality players England have, especially further up the pitch. I also presume you didn’t notice the lack of quality opposition in their group and I certainly presume you didn’t watch any of England’s games.
All dull, drab affairs.

@garypen
By not admitting to lying in wait for her, he is attempting to take out the premeditated aspect of the murder which would lead to him receiving a lesser sentence.

You can’t blame pornography for sexual crimes. Millions of people look at it and don’t commit any sex crimes.
They should ban the rape/incest themed pornography that is prevalent here though.
That should be a no-brainer.
They won’t though, just like they won’t introduce a sex offenders’ register.
I don’t understand why.

Mr Kipling, from what I can tell about this website, a lot of downvotes are personal and based on past grievances and grudges about previous posts.
I hope so anyway, otherwise there are a lot of sick people here.

Knowing Japan, this beast will get a suspended sentence or similarly pathetically light sentence.
And, since there is no sex offenders’ register, he’ll be free to move to another city undetected and do it all again.

That’s a tragic sidenote to the story.
I will never understand how such a generally very safety conscious country as Japan has such a lax attitude to child and infant seat belt / safety seat implementation. And, why the police don’t seem to bother about it.

Driver A - driving 120km/h in a 50km/h zone.
A young girl dies.
Apart from some social stigma driver A gets to go on with his life as normal.
I cannot accept this.
I hope driver A sees that girl’s face every morning when he wakes up and every night before he sleeps and I hope that he is haunted by it for the rest of his life. That’s the very least punishment he deserves.

The confusion here stems from a mistake in the reporting of the story. Yamagata city is in Gifu Prefecture.

In Nagoya, there is a railroad called the Meitetsu line and they have increased their first class seating charge from ¥360 to ¥450/¥500 depending on if you buy the ticket at the station or on the train.
Blatant price gouging as having first class seating clearly does not cost them any more in terms of operating costs.
It’s this kind of rip-off practice that really annoys me.
I will never sit in these seats again as a matter of principle.

It’s funny how many downvotes any comments stating that Japan is in a mess got on this thread.
I guess the Japanophiles and Japanese contributors don’t like to read this uncomfortable truth.
