Business and pleasure doesn't always go right! If there's marital problems it could carry over home to the work place. I don't think it is a good idea to work with a spouse in the same office.
I work with my wife in the company her dad is running, and I think it works quite well. It is annoying to never truly be off work, but it also means that I have nice colleagues and a much more flexible work style than would be possible in a normal company.
If you love your spouse and are both engaged in the same project to make the world a better place then it could be fantastic for you, for the relationship and for the world. Some people seem to assume that you will be plodding along in a dull and meaningless job with a spouse whom they would rather avoid because, I suppose, that is how most people live. Perhaps you need to reconsider your life, if that is so.
Case by case as it depends on the particular couple involved and the pressure and stress involved. Some couples could make it work, while others can't.
I enjoy working with my wife. We don't have children and our business is something we can create together. Far from destroying conversation, our joint business is often the topic of conversation over dinner and breakfast. This has been the norm for millenia. A farmer and his wife. A shopkeeper and his wife. An artisan and his wife.

There are pros? Seems like a terrible idea all around.

Depends on the couple and the dynamic of the relationship.

In a small business it may work if you generally get along.

Horrible idea.

I suppose it depends on the couple but personally, I think it would be dreadful. I feel it's best to keep work and personal life separate.

With other people who are in charge, this sounds like a nightmare.
If it's your company, it would probably be okay. It will be very common for family businesses.

No privacies is not healthy

I know there are cases where this works out, but it has also caused a ton of divorces. Proceed with caution.

Nothing to talk about when you get home?

I value some peace and quiet away from the nagging. Work is the only place where I am safe.
