Wishing Taiwanese safety and health. It's a very seismic area. The area that was hit hardest is more remote so there will be older buildings. 祝台灣的同胞安全健康.

It is. On TV stations in Taiwan. On TV stations in Japan the news focuses on Japan. Just tossing some common sense.

Shocking Photo,

Pray for the People of Taiwan, keep safe everyone.

Japan has lifted tsunami warnings.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Let's think of ways that we can actually help them! Japan can send personal quickly to help with rescue operations and cleaning up. People in Japan can help by donating some money. I personally do not think that thoughts and prayers will help those who need it, but that is just my opinion and I respect everyone's right to a different opinion on the matter.

Not according to your link, except it is a Tsunami forecast.

Yonaguni Island, which is the closest to Taiwwan, is 112km away and tsunamis travel at 800 to 970 km per hour. The earthquake occurred more than 5 hours ago.

JMA has not updated it's website for more than an hour but it has issued statements that all tsunami warnings and advisories have been lifted.

A 30-centimeter tsunami was observed at the island of Yonaguni at 9:18 a.m. local time, while small waves of 20 centimetres also reached Ishigaki island and Miyakojima island, according to the JMA. Weather officials still urged people to remain cautious as the tide level could change.

I'm sure the people of Japan remember well the kindness that the Taiwanese showed in their assistance and donations after the earthquakes in Tohoku (2011) and the recent Noto Earthquake.

Naturally, Japan will be offering various kinds of assistance to Taiwan.

Wishing for safety to all those affected in Taiwan!!

Many aftershocks rolled across the country within five hours of the quake. Wu Chien-fu, director of Taiwan’s Seismology Center, said aftershocks reaching 7.0 could shake the nation of 23 million people for three or four more days.
