No one gave me the opportunity to complain… instead at night I can now watch the reflection upon opposite buildings of couples who leave their curtains open whilst yet copulate! Oh joy !

@WoodyLee, it does involve MUFJ :

The SESC also probed Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities Co., since he worked at the financial group's brokerage unit on a temporary assignment from the bank, the sources said.

So don’t blame it on the Foreign Company MS ….

Dont Politicians do this Globally ? You have to pay to sit at dinner events with the British PM for example. So nothing new here.

Without the CCP China, should it find its own fair Democracy, could and probably would, surpass the U.S. in pretty much everything. But with the CCP, an evil almost terrorist like organisation, China has little or no hope of being a trustworthy member of the Global community.

The new left wing government will have its work cut out going forward, this will probably be not the only Strike that they’ll face.

Posted in: AI is learning from what you said on Reddit or Facebook. Are you OK with that? See in context

AI doesn’t really create new stuff but instead regurgitates previous written stuff, maybe even reworded. So if r/conspiracy is used as the source for AI “wisdom” then things will certainly become interesting.

Fake news. Social Media Companies/ Gaming Companies can promote figures to suit their own platforms.

Look at Microsoft and their App Store. they reported one Gaming App as being the number 1, simply because they forcefully downloaded it upon all Windows 10 users accounts....

So be wary of so called Stats.

Posted in: China is runaway leader in generative AI patent applications followed by the US, the UN says See in context

China steals and does not innovate - just like Japan did in Past decades.

Did "Chat GPT" come from China ? ... NO !

Did the Motor Car come from Japan ? ..... NO !

Its with little wonder, that Western Countries have started to reject Education related visas for Chinese Nationals.

The future may tell a different Story, however worryingly, China unlike Japan, has a Totalitarianism regime, which poses a threat to the use of this Technology to the Rest of the World. That threat, if it becomes recognized as verifiably realistic may result in Conflict.

Posted in: The questions about Biden's age and fitness are reminiscent of another campaign: Reagan's in 1984 See in context

Lets be realistic here. Aging effects different people in different ways and to varying levels.

Some people are insanely articulate and retain the majority of their abilities well into their 90's and beyond, others, do not.

Also, as this article highlights, Age also brings with it, the Wisdom of experience and History, something often lacking in a number of the Younger Generation - for obvious reasons.

I've stated the obvious here, clearly - How many of you, with Parents still alive, still seek their advice from time to time, think about it.

Putting Age aside, does the current President of the US meet the predefined requirements for remaining in Office - or has he been deemed to be in an incapacitated state ?

Posted in: Divers turn conservationists as corals bleach worldwide See in context

Japan Divers are the worst for Coral care - I know that from experience here.

Gloves tend to be worn here, why ? So that they can grab ahold of something, rather than learning buoyancy control.

Now I'm not saying that the Japan Diving scene is the reason for the loss of the local Coral reefs, there's many other factors involved, however, a bit more education is required.

Posted in: As AI gains a workplace foothold, U.S. states are trying to make sure workers don't get left behind See in context

It’s good that at least one state is trying to help its Citizens with AI literacy. Microsoft’s CEO - Satya Nadella said earlier that he was going to help only Indians back in India gain AI skills, not any Americans in the Country in which Microsoft is based, so seeing the US Government take action to help its own. is a good thing.

This is very sad.

The future is uncertain for many young people , Globally. This young single Mother, shouldn’t be subjected to criminal prosecution, instead, the state , which claims it wants more babies, should look inwards upon where it failed here.
