Cultural and family circumstances play a big part. My brothers Japanese wife in Australia hangs out with her son. My wife and I here in Tokyo hang out with each other for the most part with the occasional visit with our closest friends separately.

Within a few decades the population will have been outgrown by the forign resident population, as they tend to have larger families than Japanese.

It’s pretty amazing how completely in synch she is with her audience. Her lyrics could come straight from most of their private diaries; that’s not to say it’s easy to write those kind of songs.
