I think the article could have been shorter, but it is a very nice way to inspire people to being more active. Unfortunately it is very common for people to consider physical excercise a chore or something that only comes with suffering, but as the article helpfully describes this does not have to be the case. It can be made enjoyable and that can help some people remain active permanently.

Walking is the main exercise for the young and the old in our location. Country air. And the dog owners. Our local gym is just a 10-minute walk which we use twice a week. The shore area is 20 minutes away good for the negative ions.

I love outdoors, play tennis every week, camping, hiking small mountains, or just going out to the park with the kids (and ski in the winter). But one problem is the Japanese summer, over 35 C with high humidity makes outdoor activities hazardous.

Unfortunately a recent trend in some social media services was for influencers to claim that walking was not exercise, I can't avoid thinking how some people could have been demotivated by such claims when actually walking is a very nice form to be active.

Walking is one of the best "exercises" for weight loss. The biggest factor in all of this, whether you run or walk or any physical activity, is (drumroll) CONSISTENCY. The results are as advertised.

Alas. I used to know how to bike around. I've forgotten how.

Gyms just aren't for me. As to exercise, I walk a little and play catch with the kid across the street once in a while. Indoors, I shuffle cards for 5 minutes, drink a lot of coffee, and wash the toilet bowl. After all that I need a nap. Fit as fiddle I am.
