"If Baldwin so recklessly ignored so has Keanu Reaves, Arnold, Stallone, Statham, etc, etc., none of them checked every round they fired on set. Do you seriously think Reaves checked every round he fired on the John Wick movies? LOL. He was given a gun which was supposed to have blank rounds checked by the head armorer. "
Whether those other actors used real firearms on set is a different question. None of them actually killed anyone. Perhaps because those other films were properly funded and produced, there were no such incidents.
The funding and production of "Rust", however is quite a different matter. This was Baldwin's baby. He's the captain of this ship.
So now you're saying that he isn't guilty of mishandling the gun? Now you're saying that he's guilty because he was one of the film's producers. Yet there were multiple producers. I think there were like over five producers but only he's guilty. The head armorer was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence. She brought live ammunition to the set and lost track of them.

"repeat aloud the three "golden rules" of gun safety.
*Always point the gun in a safe direction (Never point towards a person unless you intend to shoot that person) . Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire. And always treat a firearm as if it were loaded."*
All of those are what Baldwin so recklessly ignored. Manslaughter. For being stupid AND reckless.
If Baldwin so recklessly ignored so has Keanu Reaves, Arnold, Stallone, Statham, etc, etc., none of them checked every round they fired on set. Do you seriously think Reaves checked every round he fired on the John Wick movies? LOL. He was given a gun which was supposed to have blank rounds checked by the head armorer.
"There was a severe overcorrection, that didn't need to be made in the way that it was," said Merrick.
As an armorer with three decades of experience, Merrick believes that real guns -- when used safely -- give both actors and audiences an unrivalled sense of "authentic action."
All this because one head armorer was incompetent and unprofessional.

So you'd buy a guitar but not play it? Just decoration? It's okay to leave a guitar unstrung for a little time but if you keep it that way for a long time, it'll probably damage the neck.
The Great Wave one looks kind of cool but something tells me you could get a much better guitar for 200,000.

As much as I'd like to see one, I am not a huge fan of Higashiyama zoo. Some of the exhibits are nice, but it is still more about showig the animals than taking care of them and showing them in something similar to their natural habitat. Some of the enclosures at Higashiyama is more like little concrete prison cells for the animals. Still, I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that they take care of it properly.
Never been to that zoo but Ueno Zoo is a travesty. Some animals can barely move.

It's a classic for a reason but my favorite is Ran. Brilliant film with great performances especially Mieko Harada as Lady Kaede. Mesmerizing. Unfortunately, Kurosawa is now an unknown in Japan. Some people recall his name but very few have seen his films. Kubrick, Spielberg, etc looked up to him as the master....for good reason. Incredible that he continued directing even after going blind.

JeffLeeToday 06:37 pm JST
It's the typical knee jerk reaction to blame all a country's problems on illegals and migrants.
*yeah it would be if that was what most of the critics are doing. They're not. They're the blaming the policy and the those who made it -- who are the govt.*
Canada is in a very similar situation, and Trudeau has had to put big limits on quotas and restrict students' permitted working hours after a strong backlash concerning a dire housing squeeze and employment.
Clearly, it's a very bad policy. And, no, criticizing flawed public policy does not make people racist or xenophobic. It's actually essential in a healthy democracy. sorry you don't like it.
I lived in Australia for three years and believe me that many common folk blame outsiders for many of their problems regardless if it's clearly gov't policy. If having to choose to blame their own gov'ts versus 'outsiders' the majority are going to blame the outsiders. When things get economically difficult due to gov't decisions or global issues, there are a lot of people who blame outsiders first and foremost. Being a Canadian I've seen it firsthand myself. This isn't a part of a healthy democracy.
Many Australians blame the Chinese for buying up all their properties, inability to buy a home, or even rent. They don't give a damn about their own gov't policies that affect supply & demand or inflation. You don't know much about human behavior do you. Do you think this recent anti-immigrant wave is based on a rational look at their own gov'ts? Most of the time when they do blame the gov't, it's just partisan politics. If the party they prefer and support were in power, they wouldn't blame them at all. They'd blame the outsiders and the other party not the gov't as a whole.

Posted in: Australia doubles foreign student visa fee in migration crackdown See in context
Migrants and immigration illegals don't always equate to foreign students. Yes there are some who overstay illegally after they finish their studies but most return to their home countries to look for a job or apply for a job in Australia and hope to get a work visa. Someone who spends $ thousands on education aren't likely going to stay illegally to do manual labour. They're cracking down on visa loopholes extensions which will help reduce those stay for unclear reasons.
It's the typical knee jerk reaction to blame all a country's problems on illegals and migrants. If you can't find a decent job, it probably has more to do with what you did or didn't do and not blame the illegal or migrant. Chances are locals would never do the work that illegals and migrants do cause they think they're too good for those jobs.
Trying to connect it with the housing situation is even more laughable because in the vast majority of cases it's an Australian owner/citizen who sells their property to a foreigner. Or it's a case of supply vs. demand. Most foreign students aren't buyers either, they're renters.

Stadion Olympique has a lot of history there. 1976 Olympics with Bruce (now Caitlin) Jennings, Pink Floyd incident that inspired 'The Wall', Montreal Expos. And Donald Sutherland too.
Of course the stadium's signs only state the 1976 Games but there are so many stories of history and culture in that unique stadium.
The Big-O does have historical significance for Montrealers and many have some fond memories including me but....
The 1976 summer olympics will go down in history as perhaps the most financially mismanaged olympics in history. It took 30yrs to pay it off and one main reason was the stadium. Looked nice but poorly designed with major cost overruns and delays. The retractable roof didn't work. It was cavernous and all concrete with no colors. Cold even in summer. Acoustics were pretty bad. It's basically been empty since 2004. A true white elephant and it's actually white!

And you do need to pay. You have to buy her new album to gain access as it’s a…..promotion. Did you read the article.?
And it’s gouge….you’re paying to shake the hand if an artist who doesn’t want to look at you and doesn’t want you to look at her.*
And you haven't explain what is the "gouge"!
You mean people actually having to pay for her album?
You mean it should be free?
Sorry I own an extensive record collection (yes vinyl) and I clearly remember paying for every single one of those records!
I didn't know today music was free!
You do realize that in most events you have to pay, right?
To win meet and greet in the west you have to buy a ticket to the show, to get an autograph you pay to get into the event, wether it is a music artist or a Sci-Fi convention, etc...
I don't understand your very apparent loathing of her. Is it because she's successful? Perhaps someone isn't that wanted to be?
You can look the word gouge up and it'll explain what should be obvious. If you think a meet & greet where you shake someone's hand through a hole in the wall (LOL!!) and the artist doesn't want to look at you and she doesn't want you to look at her is a meet & greet event, then you don't understand what a meet & greet is.
I said that you have to pay for the event which you took offense with. Why I don't know. The article clearly states you have to pay and buy her new album else you can't attend the event. Whether you pay at the door or beforehand through merchandise you're still paying for the ability to attend.
Now you're going off in a completely different tangent about your paying to buy albums in the past which has nothing to do with this article and her event which you insisted was free. You just divert and switch to a different subject desperate to make a point yet utterly fail.

Engineers and ‘people’ vouch for her do they. Again…why would this affect me. It’s music which is an art and completely subjective. Sounds like you’re talking about yourself.

Are you an audio technician? Do you sing or play an instrument? Playing an instrument I’ve used effect pedals, sound processors, and MIDI and the tech and possibilities now are mind boggling. What knowledge or experience do you have that says otherwise?
Having an AI voice as a singer is already everywhere. A lot of anime music is AI. Having an AI singer with a masked ‘performer’ and backups can not only eliminate many of the headaches of dealing with artists as well as significantly increase profits. Trouble free and cost efficiency. It is a business after all. And I have listened to ‘her’ music. Not impressed.
So what if there’s negativity surrounding this. How is it any different from your liking her. LOL. More of your typical my opinion carries more weight BS.
But the important point is why someone or something who supposedly wishes to be private would agree to a ¥ paid in person meet and greet and gouge ‘her’ fans.

if you want to remain private and not show your face, agreeing to a ¥ paid in-person Meet & Greet is not only hypocritical but sounds like your taking advantage of your fans. But there’s a fool who’ll dish out ¥ for a pseudo kind of Meet & Greet.

“Go woke, sell $295 million in tickets over opening weekend”
Sone of the permanently triggered and upset have apparently claimed this film is ‘woke’.
Really? Who said it was?
I've watched the trailer, saw some clips, and read several reviews. There's always a tiny minority that make those claims about everything they see but the vast majority haven't said anything in that regard. Which media outlet, reviewer, or critic said it was? If anything the majority of reviews have been positive even from those that typically make those claims.
Crying wolf - Yelling fire is the the new drama queen tactic.
But what some have questioned is how an animated movie has a budget of $200mil. The animation looks good but nothing spectacular or ground breaking. For that much $, there should be something truly unique.
Dune 2's budget was $200mil and it had a huge A-list cast and was shot on several locations around the world. The CGI though used sparingly is excellent with a realistic feel.
Godzilla -1's budget was $15mil and taking into consideration how overworked and underpaid film crew are in Japan, it's an area that needs to be addressed but even if you doubled the budget, it's still just $30mil. The CGI is also for the most part, very very good.
This is just one example of Hollywood's recent trend of bloated budgets where you can't really see how it merited so much money spent.
Movies need to succeed at the box office for cinema to thrive. Cinema operators are on the brink of bankruptcy. We need people to return to cinemas.

I don't know about that first part!
The fact I pointed out that there doesn't seem to be any convention on where a stop sign is located in Japan (basically any place they can fit it) got quite a few down votes, makes me wonder if anyone does drive!
You tell me, is there a consistency in stop sign location?
I out right now in my looking at a stop sign, it it on a 2 direction road, I would say 3 metres high on the opposite side of the road ( car drives on the left the sign is 3 metres high on a telephone pole on the right side) and yes there is a stop line but no 止まれ written on the road.
But point this out and Soo many here don't like it!

The video is full of criticism and vies to find ‘legal opinion’ to put the kart drivers in the wrong.
Clearly, a large part of this is just due to the resentment against free spending tourists sparking jealousy amongst the locals.
Unlike most posters here, I drive regularly and drive all over.
I get to see the mostly good level of driving but there are complete fools on the road here too.
Even my local area is full of traffic violations.
If I walk 5 minutes to my nearest main road then I can see drivers running red lights 24/7.
And yes, I’ve personally witnessed several accidents at the nearest junction.
Funny how these incidents don’t make the news?
