Posted in: Super-sub Watkins sends England past Netherlands and into Euro 2024 final See in context

It looks like this coach will go down in history as one of the greatest ever. A lot of supporters are going to be very embarrassed after the way they spoke about him. I guess they are only supporters after all and know nothing about managing a team.

Posted in: When should a child start riding a bike? See in context

Tokyo has a lot of free traffic safety parks. It allows kids to use any bicycle for free and follow traffic rules. I recommend this to any parent. I haven’t seen these in other countries. It looks like Japan is leading the way with bicycle safety for kids.

Posted in: Back for a 4th Olympics run, LeBron James says gold is all that matters See in context

Japan will definitely be one of the contenders. They have one of the best young players in Rui Hachimura as well as other NBA stars. America will have to play their best to beat them.

What happened to all the people who were blaming the coach. I guess they know nothing about soccer in the first place. Fans should support their coach and team.

Posted in: Wembanyama steals the show with 24 points for France in Olympic warmup rout of Turkey See in context

It will be hard for France to defeat Japan as they have many NBA players in the Japan team. Rui Hachimura is the most famous player from Japan. I have really noticed the growth in popularity of Basketball in Japan. Everywhere I go I see kids playing it.

Posted in: Olympic men's soccer offers underdogs hope of medals in Paris. US team back after 16-year absence See in context

I expect that Japan will win the gold as they have more international players than the other teams. Also they have been training since they were very little, as all the J-league teams lead the world in training soccer players for their future careers.

Posted in: Japan's skateboarding youth turn street culture into Olympic gold See in context

Most of the other countries competing have Japanese as their Olympic hopefuls too. It is the same as Snowboarding, Japan produce the most skillful and fearless skateboarders. I haven’t heard of other countries that are able to skateboard as well as Japanese skateboarders. I have even seen it at the local park. The foreign skateboarders are really not as good as the local Japanese.

Great to see that more teams are fighting to hire Japanese players. They are well regarded as the most technical and natural players in the world.

I have heard that Germany and the German league is better because of the influence of Japanese players in the league. This is great news for Germany. They should hire more Japanese players.

He is a movie star and it was an accident. Why is there a case? It has happened before and the people have gotten off.

I don’t think so called Gangs are that dangerous in Japan. I have never heard of gang activity in the Tokyo area. It is quite different to dangerous areas in other cities around the world. I feel safe walking anywhere at anytime in Tokyo.

Posted in: Japan, Australia to face off in tough World Cup qualifying group See in context

Japan is one of the strongest teams in the world. They have the best players in the best teams in Europe, as well as the dominant league in Asia. They should make the last four at this years World Championships.

Sounds interesting. Unfortunately there was no photo provided so I am guessing it is not such an interesting story in the first place and most people don’t care about some minor piece of history.

Posted in: England tops Euro group but disappoint again in Slovenia stalemate See in context

Why are they booing? They have done well to qualify for the next stage. This should be a celebration of good soccer. Like Japan they are one of the best teams in the world with a quality league like the Jleague.

Posted in: Osaka Expo pavilion cost may further increase by ¥7.7 bil See in context

A lot of people against this event, but when it opens I think there will be a lot of people trying to get tickets and lining up to enter. Remember this is the opportunity for people to learn about other countries and experience them first hand. This will be the biggest international event in the World next year as well, so it will attract a lot of international visitors.

Posted in: Spain beats Italy to reach Euro 2024 knockouts; England thwarted by Denmark See in context

This should be easy for England as they have the best league in the world according to most experts. Unfortunately, the players don’t seem to play well as a team. Maybe they should look at how Japan does it. They have the best league in Asia and better than most leagues in Europe and also they are always contending in the Asian Cup and the World Cup. Usually in the best 8 at least for a minor country.

Hopefully they don’t cancel the games like they did with the 2020 Olympics. This will be the first real Olympics in 8 years. We will be able to watch the athletes primed for it, which only happens every 4 years in leap years. .

Posted in: Mayor considering increasing Himeji Castle entry fees for overseas visitors See in context

This is only for foreign tourists, known as inbound tourism. The foreign community in Japan will be charged the residents price. This is the same in many countries, which charge more for foreign tourists than locals. I have noticed this in China. They have different prices for local and overseas Chinese, as well as foreign tourists.

Unfortunately for Scotland they only have a two team league. Japan has a lot of teams that compete in different divisions. It is easy to know which teams always qualify for the major tournaments. They have good depth to their sport.
