Children in charge of the country on display again.
Just legalise it already. Causes far fewer issues than alcohol does.

Which "western" countries specifically?

Those gummy shop hygiene isn’t the best either with most people touching the gummies with their hands, cough and sneeze on it! It’s a bacteria filled Petri dish! And people wonder why they got sick after eating those!

Well done to Japan. Keep weed a class A drug.
Potheads are not required here

Key here is "synthetic". That's the problem.

""A ministry panel on Tuesday approved adding the six compounds to the list of controlled substances, prohibiting their manufacture, sale and possession except for medical purposes.""
Here we go slowly but surly the dark web and the drug lords are seeping into Japan were they can sell anything at a much higher profit, made in China synthetic cannabinoids are the worst of all.
If Japan does not get a handle on drugs and tightly control it's flow it will suffer the same epidemics that are raging in Europe, the America's, Australia, Canada, South East Asia, and the rest of the world.

Checked myself, it's not just "some" but the entire EU and the same is also found in some miso as well

Good question to ask oneself after consuming gummies.
Watch out.

Good.
No tolerance for drugs in Japan.
One of the things I love about this country.

All the people commenting that Japan is drug-free really don't know much about Japan.
If Japan was smart and treated their citizens like grown adults, they would just legalize THC like they did in Canada and put a disclaimer saying that it may cause such and such side effects and to use with discretion.
At least that's my opinion.
