quote of the day

It is impossible to deny the possibility that something serious will happen around our country, just like in Ukraine.

"Known unknowns "....where have I heard this before. ?

Most events like conflict and war are predictable and see a gradual escalation that Military Heads ignore, for various purposes.

Past history...attack on Pearl Harbour ...not a surprise attack but one that was anticipated {Read "At Dawn we slept "}

Recent history...Oct 7 attacks by Hamas resistance fighters ....known or expected by Israeli Intel, women IDF personnel and other s.

Your job as Commander in the Armed Forces is to listen to all signs, and react before the incident occurs.

In modern warfare zero can be done unobtrusively by a belligerent nation.

To much technology in the air for one.

Basically Japan knows that if any of the countries around them start a fight, they would have a flood of refugees and have done everything in their power to make sure people like that wouldn’t be welcome.

Yep...all about the refugees....sigh.

This strikes me far more as manufactured fear rather than actual threat.

"All of which aim to unilaterally change the status quo by force."

Pure conjecture. You might as well say all threatened by the U.S.

Claiming surprise attacks were not surprise attacks doesn't make it so.

But if you are a terrorist like Hamas, your entire game is hiding your capability. Also doesn't help when you have war criminals like Putin claiming there will be no invasion before invasion.

They weren't surprise attacks, they were intelligence failure and complacency attacks.

Also doesn't help when you have war criminals like Putin claiming there will be no invasion before invasion.

But US was 100% aware Putin was gonna invade for months prior Washington has told us so not a surprise.

An interesting theory but the build up to Pearl Harbor was quite clever to avoid detection.

We were aware he had an army of terrorists on the border but we thought the Russian could still tell the truth once in a blue moon.

Pure conjecture. You might as well say all threatened by the U.S.

It's not "conjecture" when Russia is actively invading its neighbor militarily, and China is doing the same via grey zone activities and lawfare. Anyone who doesn't acknowledge the threat likely doesn't know much about authoritarianism or geopolitics, or is perhaps shouting for one of those countries (after all, they both have well-funded influence operations, as I'm sure you're aware).

For North Korea, I don't think anyone can be sure of its aims as it is a total basket case.

What are you, blind? Russia is literally invading its neighbors right now, China is sending its warships into the legally recognized EEZs os neighboring countries to claim them as its own right now. this isn’t conjecture, its reality.
