So, who is really doing provocation now?

China.

I’m all for this happening every time the Chinese cross into any other country’s territory.

I've only ever seen the negative Boeing employee comments about the 787 and 737MAX, which is understandable.

and even then, the 787 at least seems to have an excellent overall safety record. Flown on one a few times and will again.

I’m all for Japan placing a bunch of these in international waters near Chinese territory as well. Nothing wrong with it.

Probably quite a lot. That’s a very difficult question to answer, and I suspect even people who will deny it for themselves probably unknowingly have also.

"Of course, the involvement of the United States in the fighting, as a result of which peaceful Russians are dying, cannot but have consequences,"

while waging war against their neighbor, killing civilian men, women and children, all of Peskov’s complaints are a massive hypocrisy. Peaceful Russians? That’s becoming something of an oxymoron. Go back to Russia.

So after living in Japan for 26 years am I not entitled to my own opinion?

Of course you are. I'm just saying, when OssanAmerica says "than your country" he is likely mistakenly suggesting you are from somewhere that you are not.

However, I do disagree with your opinion also. War is likely in the region not because of Kishida or Japan, but will not exclude Japan either.

@OssanAmerica - I agree with what you are saying except for this part.

It is a developed democratic nation with individual freedoms far greater than your country.

I’m pretty sure I know where Alongfortheride is from due to his past comments and it is not one of Japan’s adversarial neighbors. Wrong hemisphere to start with.

Other than that I completely agree with you.

Putin has ensured this is going to continue on Russia’s own soil. It’s not another Afghanistan for Russia. It’s far worse than that. Ukraine has lost a lot, but Russia’s not won anything yet.

Thought Warner Dearns was great too... Big hands... And before anyone says it he's lived in Japan since age 9, went to normal Japanese school and speaks better Japanese than English... Bit like Leachy.

Someone’ll be along shortly, I’m sure of it.

First game with a new squad and everyone's writing Eddie off?

200 caps between them vs 700 odd in the English team… never gonna be easy. I do still think Eddie’s past his prime though.

Still England too good right now. Hoping they demolish the All Blacks but that's a big test.

Oh man I hope not. Hoping the ABs really have found something special with Razor.

Posted in: Online shopping traps: How can you avoid getting stung? See in context

The most important thing is research. Check reviews, video if possible. People have mentioned buying direct from a vendor, but at least if shopping through Amazon, Temu or AliExpress, the sellers do not receive your payment details. If buying direct, some credit and debit cards offer a single use virtual card. Use them, Apple Pay, PayPal etc to limit possible loss. Avoid the SNS adverts.

And always follow the age old adage… if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

approached the woman on the street near Okubo Park in the Kabukicho district of Shinjuku on May 27, and lured her to a hotel by promising to pay her money,

There is no doubt that she is a victim here, but “come to a hotel with me and I’ll give you money” might be likely to work on some of those prone to being gullible, or I have a feeling she is more than a victim.

Posted in: 45% of Japanese living abroad feel lonely: gov't study See in context

I have no statistics to back up this claim but I think most people in most places feel lonely 'once in a while' or 'sometimes.' It's part of being human.

exactly this I think. Sometimes too, I think that putting yourself out there among people can intensify the feelings of loneliness. Being a third wheel among friends, being a novice newcomer to a hobby group etc. It’s normal. Personally I like being alone. I never feel loneliness in any overwhelming way.

So, I would say that is evidence of a pretty good deterrence effect.

Actually, Russia was already in the Donbass fomenting the civil war in the first place. They didn't need to be asked.

Exactly. There would have been zero bombing of that region had Russians not been there stoking this tension. Try as you might though... the veil of Russian propaganda is particularly heavy for some.

Pure NAFO propaganda - Not "imperialistic expansion of Russia's borders but to try and stop NATO moving into its own historical neighborhood.

So the SMO failed. Not another way to look at it after the inclusion of Finland and Sweden. Yes, yes, we know. Russia doesn't care about those two. LOL
