Quite an encouraging article after reading so many articles recently about many Japanese having negative attitude towards the sudden influx of foreigners.

Totally agree @spitfire. A bit of online research would've shown what a total failure this guy is.

It always amazed me how Kewell got this job. His CV managing in the UK is one of consistent failure right down to managing semi-professional as he went from smaller club to smaller club who took a chance on him.
He failed at literally every club he managed and was fired at all of them. Didn't Yokohama do their homework?

@Ed, I can confirm "the new Bali" moniker. Since the yen has crashed I've definitely noticed a different kind of tourist. Not all of course but many uncivilized bogan types that I'd only experienced in Bali. I've witnessed some really embarrassing and disrespectful behaviour.

@moonraker, LOL! Exactly what I was thinking. Maybe she can follow it up by seeing the Mona Lisa and the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel at the Ohtsuka Art Museum in rural Tokushima.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Lest we forget.

Sabrina Harnois, 24, an American living in Tokyo who came dressed as a gothic witch, said an incident like the one in Itaewon could have happened, recalling how "horribly crowded" Shibuya was in 2019.
"It was hard to walk around, and it did feel dangerous," she said.
Felt dangerous but she still came back.

This is not a new problem. I climbed it in 2003 and this is how I remember it and bear in mind this is way before the big wave of tourists. I have to agree with Nihon Enigma's experience.
