It seems highly likely this is connected with the Denso fuel pump defect last month, triggering around 2.7 million recalls in Japan. You should contact your dealer.

Fuel pumps are mechanically very simple and molding is a really basic issue too. Gotta wonder about Denso's QC. I wonder how many foreign "trainees" from abroad with hardly any experience work in Japanese supplier factories these days.

They are made by Denso in the US. Denso has manufacturing plants in Arkansas, Tennessee, Michigan and North Carolina. They are an OEM for several manufacturers including Harley Davidson.

Thanks, Desert Tortoise. If that's the case, then I guess only US manufactured cars are affected. I was worried as I have one of the models listed, but it was made in Japan.

"I guess just us manufactured cars..."

a Bigger recall, 3.8 mil. cars, has been going on in Japan over Denso fuel pumps. I guess that's just a coincidence.
