I'm not a fan of Harris but the Dem party can craft a message for her highlighting her relative youth, multicultural background and legal mind. Harris would have a chance, not a big one but at least a chance if she somehow steps up to the challenge. Biden has zero chance.

The Japanese navy back to playing silly games off the coast of China once again. And some in the JT "brain trust" are giggly.
Judging by a slew of recent articles I'll go with incompetence to explain the Japanese vessel entering Chinese territorial waters.

Because Lai effectively called for Two Chinas or One China, One Taiwan. The PRC will never allow this to happen.
Once again from the Shanghai Communique, Taiwan's current yojimbo declared,
The U.S. side declared: The United States acknowledges that all Chinese on either side of the Taiwan Strait maintain there is but one China and that Taiwan is a part of China. The United States Government does not challenge that position.
Care to state your nationality? I'm a USA citizen with a Japanese wife who has lived and worked in Taiwan, China and Japan. Why are you seemingly so invested in this issue?

Reagan's White House agreed to decrease arms sales to Taiwan over time. White Man speaks with forked tongue, indeed.
The United States Government states that it does not seek to carry out a long-term policy of arms sales to Taiwan, that its arms sales to Taiwan will not exceed, either in qualitative or in quantitative terms, the level of those supplied in recent years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the United States and China, and that it intends to reduce gradually its sales of arms to Taiwan, leading over a period of time to a final resolution. The correct title is Director. Raymond Greene and his staff should confine their work to consulate work for American citizens living in Taiwan and commerce as agreed to by the PRC and the USA in the two countries' agreements in the 1970s.
As the Shanghai Communique clear reads, politics is to be decided by the Chinese on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. By the Chinese themselves. Quit meddling in the internal affairs of another nation.
"The US side declared: The United States acknowledges that all Chinese on either side of the Taiwan Strait maintain there is but one China and that Taiwan is a part of China. The United States Government does not challenge that position. It reaffirms its interest in a peaceful settlement of the Taiwan question by the Chinese themselves."

Some additional information is useful.
Revelations on Wednesday that President Yoon Suk-yeol may have intervened in the investigation into the death of a South Korean marine have renewed scrutiny into his actions and fueled accusations of a coverup, putting at risk not only public trust in government but the trajectory of ROK politics.
Corporal Chae Su-geun died in July 2023 while on a rescue mission during the country’s flood season. Investigations revealed that Chae and other marines had not been issued life vests during the mission, leading to his death by drowning after being swept up by currents.
