What a brave woman giving her life to save others.

From past incidents in Japan, when there's perpetrator Japanese people usually the one who'll run. Don't expect any of them will sacrifice their life for others.

She gave her life for the children.. Did the Japanese government also present her a posthumous award? I read that the embassy flew the flag at half staff, but I would hope that there would be something more substantial. How about renaming the school in her honor?

I’d like a comment on this case from the Chinese guy who urinated in the Yasukuni Shrine. Or is his Weibo account already shut down?
RIP Hu Youping

It seems Japanese companies sent people and they are working at private companies in China. There is nothing to do with the j government, but their company should do something about she saved their lives.

She was a hero..

Great to see her selfless sacrifice is getting the recognition it deserves.
When the initial news of this incident was posted it was overlooked and ignored.

RIP to this brave and kind woman.
I pray that the Japanese Government will give her family condolence money after being left without her income. In addition, the Japanese school will continue to pay her salary to her family for a year to give them time to adjust financially.

But not the Chinese government for raising a hateful nutter?

I would say that her case is proof that despite all the propaganda the Chinese are forced to embrace, there are still people who can resist state-sponsored brainwashing and do help those in need despite the demographics. I would love to see how the Chinese government will handle anti-Japanese sentiment on their social media, whether they will really crack down on them or just be all bark but no bite.

What a wonderfully, brave, and courageous Hu Youping was, giving up her life to save others. And it was so sad to read about the pathetic, pityful, critics, who abused her selfless act on social media sites. It says more about them as failed humans.

What a totally pointless comment and out of touch. Can't believe the mods haven't deleted it yet.
Rip to the Chinese woman who gave her life for the mom and kid(s).

Total respect for this lady. Hoping the Japanese government will find some way to express their thanks.

A little concerning that there is an element who hold genuine hatred for Japanese people in China. A legacy of WWII actions, but those responsible have all passed and those alive now hold no responsibility for the harmful actions of their ancestors.
But it is heartening to see there are those willing to forgive the past and value everyone equally. This woman was a hero for those whom she saved.

I bow to her. She has proven once again that there are and have been decent people all over the world.
Pukey2
And no concern about the genuine hatred for Chinese people? I can understand why my comment got deleted then.

JT mods - don't let the scum of humanity post comments on this thread too! I can count already many that should not be here.

You cannot dismiss Japan's actions against Chinese in the last century so lightly.
The Japanese massacred, raped, tortured men, women, children and babies and pillaged across China for years, and this is barely taught in schools these days. It was as bad and often far worse than the Nazis.
You are missing the fact that there is a lot of blatant discrimination against Chinese in Japan in the public and media. The only thing I heard sp[oken about Chinese people in the media and people I knew in Japan was racist. It is quite shocking how casually the Japanese make racist comments about the Chinese.
They say things like, 'oh, probably Chinese did that (crime)''
'That's like Chinese style/ product (suggesting it's bad quality or not good).
Chinese people are well aware of the attitudes the Japanese have about them inside and outside Japan.
Ask any openly Chinese person (many of them hide their Chinese identity as Koreans do) in Japan how they are treated.
smithinjapan
Sooooo much emphasis on nationality on this issue when the woman clearly showed she did what is human and has no nationality.

Because there are still people who believe the above propaganda, the Chinese view of history is anti-Japanese, just like Korea. And incidents like this one are repeated. Both the perpetrators and the victims are just tragedies born from incorrect historical education.
If it was on the same scale as the German genocide of the Jews, it would not have been as bad as the victims of the Jews unless they had operated something like extermination camps and kept killing them.
Who on earth is it that stubbornly believes the propaganda that the Japanese army was just cruel, when there is no evidence that such things happened or that there were camps?
On the other hand, there are probably more people who do not know about incidents where Chinese people massacred Japanese people. There are many, including the "Tongzhou Incident," but I would like to know why they do not teach that the perpetrators were Chinese.
If Japanese people were sacrificed many times in China, it was natural for the Japanese army not to stay silent at that time. It is the same in the United States and the United Kingdom.
You should resent the Chinese leaders who could not even maintain proper public order at that time.

China has black and white film reels of charging Japanese troops from WW2 which they play endlessly in schools, assuring that the children have the memories of their grandparents. No escape from the past, it seems.
