Posted in: Brian May: Knighthood comes with 'a little bit more clout' See in context

Gaijinland wrote, “So what if it’s a relic from the British Empire? So is their royal family!”

A really ignorant comment. The British empire was a disgrace, and it still hasn’t been fairly settled to this date.

It matters enormously. Anyone fool enough to accept these things are truly ignorant of the past and doing nothing to build a better future concerning this issue.

Great comment Bob Fosse. I’m so happy you spoke out against ignorance.

Posted in: Japan births at new low as population shrinks and ages See in context

Great news. There are far too many people in the world. A massive fall in population is needed not just in Japan, but everywhere. It would go a long way in helping to preserve our precious planet.

Posted in: Buying a home in Japan: What you should consider See in context

What you should consider is NOT buying any accommodation anywhere in Japan. It would be a terrible investment. Property hasn’t gone up in value for many, many decades since the bubble burst in 1989/90, and the Japanese economy is in a puff flimsy state.

Posted in: Biden says U.S. will act decisively if Russia invades Ukraine See in context

By “decisively” does he mean war? America is great at starting a war and poor at stopping them. All war will achieve is tens of thousands of deaths, perhaps hundreds of thousands or in the millions if a few nuclear bombs are thrown in for good measure. In the end people will needlessly die and then peace will be brokered. So, cut out the war bit and start negotiating peacefully right now. War is over if you want.

Good news More, please. Japan is stupidly overpopulated.

Posted in: TV viewership for Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony 56.4% in Japan See in context

I’ve boycotted this super spreading event that puts money over people’s lives. It is ludicrous that it went ahead. And it’s going to cost us dearly in increased taxation and extra covid deaths.

Posted in: COVID state of emergency likely for Tokyo Olympics See in context

Suga is not going to do everything he can. He’s not listening to the doctors or the vast majority in Japan. He’s not going to cancel this super-spreading Olympic Games event. Lives will be lost because the Olympics are deemed more important than the subsequent loss of life.

Posted in: Bezos leaves enduring legacy as he steps away as Amazon CEO See in context

He has resided over a company that is leading to high-streets all over the world becoming ghost towns. Workers have to do mind numbing tasks for minimum recompense and they have to undergo unreasonable checks with their every move watched. To top that off, in the climate emergency we are all facing, he's off to space on a joy ride. And if all that wasn't enough, it is apparently OK that has more wealth than the average American store worker at an Amazon depot could make in about 14,000 years of slog. This apparently is lauded and the best humanity can do! Total rubbish, totally unjustifiable and totally unfair.

Posted in: From a great height: Tokyo sky decks offer fresh perspective See in context

Mt. Fuji is rarely visible because of the terrible air pollution in Tokyo. The only chance of seeing it is the day after a typhoon or other harsh storm. The climate emergency has increased those chances a little.

How nice she is afforded that luxury. Tons of her fellow citizens are forced to carry on come what may on the road to death from overwork, the true scale of which has been scandalously covered up.

Posted in: Olympics may bring more risks than economic benefits for Japan See in context

Drinking alone when out or at home smacks of a drinking problem. The pandemic is a good time to go on the wagon. People act less responsibly with booze inside them, so if crowds are to be at Olympic super spreading events, then banning alcohol makes total sense.

Great news. The world in general is way too over populated, but Japan takes overpopulation to the extreme. We could do with 90% less people on Earth. This would ensure the future of our precious planet.

Posted in: Tokyo Governor Koike hospitalized due to fatigue See in context

Welcome to the club. The insane corporate work environment fatigues everyone in Japan with its ridiculously long hours and people being bullied into giving up 50% of their yearly paid holiday leave. At its worse, people perish because of overwork. It does not need to be that way.

Posted in: Japanese gov't backs 4-day workweek, but experts split See in context

Work life balance in Japan is insane. Workers are forced into extremely long unproductive hours and are equally forced into taking very little paid leave. A four day flexible work week with no overtime and trebling guaranteed leave time will boost worker wellbeing and productivity. Research has also found that workers in a much better work life balance situation get sick less often, are a great deal happier and lead more fulfilling lives. Anyone against this idea is no expert, just a slave to the existing unjust and insane system.

Just lovely. The company was built on the backs of generations of loyal workers here. So they shut up shop to bleed more profits by cutting their costs in Thailand. Thanks Japan. We out of here, but buy our cameras still if you have a job.
